In Memoriam

 Alfred T. Staake

1927 - 2004

Alfred T Staake, beloved father of Robert and Ronald, passed away peacefully in San Diego January 30, 2004 with Ronald and former wife "Jean" (Brigitte M. Faulkner) at his side. A longtime resident of Torrance and a former supervisor at Hughes Aircraft in El Segundo, he was a wonderfully easygoing father with a love of sports, investing, sneaking candy to his grandkids and card playing. (His sons are just happy that he was a GOOD card player.) Grandfather of Ryan, Kevin, Nicole and Kelli Staake and father-in-law to Paulette Fehlig and Deanna (formerly Baker) Staake, his children and grandchildren gave him great joy -- and all hold wonderful and cherished thoughts of 'Grandpa Squeaky'. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. At his request, his ashes will be set free on the Pacific Ocean.

 Brigitte M. Baigert-Staake-Faulkner

1934 - 2013

A former resident of Redondo Beach, CA, Torrance, CA and Vista, CA, Brigitte M. Baigert-Staake-Faulkner passed away on April 9, 2013 of natural causes in Burbank, CA.

At the family's request, no formal service will be held.

Born Brigitte M. Baigert in Gdansk, Poland in 1934, Ms. Baigert's mother, Magdelaine, passed away when her daughter was 7 years of age.
In 1952, she emigrated to New York, NY with her father, Conrad F. Baigert, and while there met her first husband, Alfred T. Staake.
The couple relocated to Southern California in 1954 and had two children -- Bob T. Staake, an author and illustrator (b. 1957), and Ronald E. Staake, a finance executive (b. 1959).
After divorcing in 1977, she remarried in 1987 to Gene R. Faulkner.

She was affectionately known to her family and many friends as "Jean", and despite growing up during the horrors of war-ravaged Europe in the 1940s, her
sons remember that their mother was forever an optimist, always smiling, and could be counted on to offer support through her love and compassion.
Gardening, crafting, animals, walking and reading were her life-long passions -- in addition to spending time with her adoring family.

She is survived by her loving sons, her daughters-in-law Paulette and Deanna, and four grandchildren, Ryan, Kevin, Nicole and Kelli -- all of whom will miss her greatly.
