If you've ever seen best-selling children's book author/illustrator and New Yorker cover artist Bob Staake's Cape Cod studio in Chatham, Massachusetts, you have no doubt noticed its poetic and understated quarterboard. The wooden, hand-carved royal blue sign boasts a single word chiseled in gold leaf serif; IMAGINE.

In 2017, a fan from Connecticut asked is she could visit the studio and create a relief rubbing of Bob's sign. The rubbing generated such interest that soon there were numerous requests that Bob make similar, one-of-a-kind rubbings available to the public -- and he's agreed to do so for a limited time.

Each rubbing is hand-created by Bob himself using black crayon or charcoal on white paper. The IMAGINE image itself is 5.5" x 35", the paper itself measuring approximately 13" x 42". Every rubbing is pencil signed and dated by Bob Staake.

Price $150 USD (shipping included.) A signficant portion of each sale benefits the Eldredge Public Library of Chatham, Massachusetts.

Note: Because of the nature of the crayon/charcoal relief process, each rubbing is different and unique - but a one-of-akind piece of original artwork.
