Behind The Pages With Bob:

"'I created a series of concept board books for Simon & Schuster in late 90s. They were somewhat revolutionary in a couple of ways as they were both some of the first children's books published that were illustrated entirely by digital means, but they were also the first books I produced drawing with a h=mouse while using Adobe Photoshop 3.0 As of February 2021 I still use the (now) antiquated software to create my art, but back in 1998 working this way was considered cutting edge. I look at these books today and feel a sense of both pride and embarassment -- pride because I was trying things I never attemped before, embarrassment because in the illustrations I can see how I was exploring new creative territory -- and making countless aesthetic mistakes in the process. Of the four books -- My Little ABC, 123, Opposites and Color -- I consider My Little Color Book to be both the best illustrated and designed."

Summary:

A classic 123 book featuring 20 of the most famous numbers in the English language.

School Library Journal:

These two board books (My Little ABC Book and My Little 123 Book) reinforce number and letter recognition through bright colors and engaging graphics. ABC devotes a single page to each letter of the alphabet; an uppercase letter appears in the upper left corner accompanied by a sample word (Airplane, Bee, Car) printed in bold black ink. The lowercase alphabet runs along the bottom of each page with the featured letter printed in red. The simple, stylized graphics, similar in appearance to the work of David Kirk, make the objects easy to identify. 123 presents numbers from 1-20. Numerals appear in a box in the upper left corner of the page next to the name of the item(s) to be counted. The objects include balloons, doughnuts, trees, and freckles. The charm of these simple concept books lies in their fun-filled illustrations.
